Every vote truly does count. Recent elections right here in Central New York have been won or lost by a fraction of a percent. If all those who stayed home because they thought their vote would not change anything had gone to the polls, the results might have been different.

Also see our Facebook Page  for information on absentee ballots and early voting.

Oswego County Democrats work toward making Oswego County a great place to live:
• Where everyone seeking a good job can find one in the County’s diverse economic sectors including agricultural, education, technical and industrial
• Where everyone has access to affordable, quality health care, including mental health care
• Where every person is accepted and treated equally regardless of ethnicity, race, religion, gender identity or sexual orientation.
• Where every child is cared for and protected
• Where every student can get a quality public education that will prepare them for life and a post-high school trade or college education that will not leave them with massive debt
• Where our senior citizens have the support they need to maintain a happy and healthy life in their community.
• Where our bountiful natural resources are protected, providing rich experiences for our citizens and attracting tourists to help support the economy
• Where justice is administered fairly and promptly, with an emphasis on rehabilitation
• Where our elected representatives operate in a transparent and ethical manner, putting the needs of the community before personal or political goals

The mission of the Oswego County Democratic Party is to recruit and elect officeholders who support the values of the Democratic Party: equality before the law, stewardship of our environment to preserve it for our children and future generations, economic opportunity and stability for citizens of all ages, equal justice for all, a safe environment for everyone and responsible citizenship

For over 200 years, Democrats have stood for the idea that wealth and status should not be an entitlement to rule. Democrats recognize that our country and our economy are strongest when they provide opportunity for all Americans-when we grow our country from the bottom up.

Democrats stand for an abiding faith in the judgment of hardworking American families, and a commitment to helping the excluded, the disenfranchised and the poor strengthen our nation by earning themselves a piece of the American Dream. We remember that our country was sculpted by immigrants and slaves, their children and grandchildren. Even today, it is our diversity above all else that provides us with our enduring strength.

Democrats believe that each of us has an obligation to each other, to our neighbors and our communities. Each of us has a role to play in creating our future-and while we have made great progress as a nation, we know that our work is never done.
